Maria C. Cane Loza
English-Spanish
Translator and Interpreter
I am a professional English-Spanish translator and interpreter based in Indiana, with a rich experience of over 20 years in education, healthcare, and international development.
Once upon a time in Argentina, when dial-up was all the rage, I started freelancing as a translator for European and U.S. clients. Most people didn’t know what telework was and raised their eyebrows when they heard I was working for clients that I had never met IRL. I was working remotely when the expression was not trending.
Thanks to the evolution of smartphones, the reliability of laptops and the ubiquity of Wi-Fi, I was eventually able to unplug my desktop computer, pack my mobile office and travel the Americas. I lived for a year in Mexico to learn the regional dialects and absorb the culture.
Fast-forward ten years, I am a U.S. citizen living in Indiana with my family, with no plans of relocating.
Translator and Interpreter
During the pandemic, I was happy to help friends and colleagues improve their productivity and time-management skills to successfully navigate their newfound work from home life.
I now head and manage BTW Language Services, a niche company focused on English and Spanish translation services.
